Pastor John has been known to do some unusual things to get his point across, but John does
have a serious side, believe it or not. While he may dress up as a Roman soldier for a
one man theatrical performance about the crucifixion of Christ from the point of view of
the Roman soldier, or accentuate a sermon wearing a Star Wars costume, he uses these
entertaining and poignant strategies to help the congregation to connect and really identify
with what he is preaching.
Pastor John got his education at both Grand Valley State University and Grand Rapids
Theological Seminary. John holds a Bachelor of Science in communications from G.V.S.U.,
he his L.L.P.C. from the state of Michigan, and he holds a Masters Degree from G.R. Theological Seminary, with an extra
emphasis on Greek, theology, and group leadership. John is able to dig deeply into the biblical
languages and explain things in layman's terms and really help the congregation understand the
meaning of the scriptures he is preaching about.
Morning services tend to be more traditional, but even so, Pastor John still grabs everyones's attention with sermon titles like "Marvin The Martian", "Another Duke Of Hazard", "Clean Up In Aisle 9", and "Love Song Of The Nabiy". Sometimes the sermon titles bring about a groan, sometimes a smile or a chuckle, but there's never a doubt that you are going to walk away understanding Biblical scriptures, principles, and relevance when he is done.
